FIFA President Gianni Infantino in Nepal

The current President of FIFA, Mr. Gianne Infantino is visiting Nepal during Oct 6th – 8th, 2024 as part of the South Asian Country Tour. Mr. Infantino’s visit to Nepal is meaningful as Nepal FA is in Chaos due to league uncertainty.

Ex-President Sepp Blatter visited Nepal in 2012 during AFC Challenge Cup. FIFA has been granting financial support for all football programs in Nepal.

Mr. Infantino will likely address the need and development of a new stadium in Kathmandu. There is a high expectation from Nepali Football officials on various areas of football development in Nepal.

ANFA organizes three layers of professional football league, C Division, B Division, and A Division with the model of promotion and relegation and the qualifying tournament for promotion to the C Division. U-16 A Division League, U-18 A Division League and ANFA Grassroot Fun Football, District League in all its associated districts.

FIFA Goal Project produced many talented football players in Nepal who have contributed to the National Team. Late Holger Obermann from Germany paths played a vital role in shaping Nepali football and to this day his contribution is acknowledged widely in Nepal.
