All Nepal Football Association was established in 1951 and affiliated FIFA in 1972. ANFA was there when AFC was founded in 1954. Nar Samsher Janga Bahadur Rana was the Founding President of Football Association in Nepal and likewise Trailokya Nath Upreti was Secretary.
Dashrath Stadium of Nepal records the charity match between Kings-11 where King Mahendra played and first elected PM B P Koirala played from Prime Minister-11 in 1959. In 1961, Mahendra Gold Cup tournament was organized in Biratnagar. In 1968 Nar Trophy was introduced in honor of Nar Shamser Rana who contributed in development of football in Nepal. In 1978 Ganesh Thapa won the gold medal as best player but before him Baburam Pun already had achieved this award in 1968.
